What do you make of this one then?

I woke up in the early hours of Friday morning having had yet another vivid dream, and I recall thinking: this is brilliant, I must blog it. Come Friday daytime, and could I remember it? No.

Still, at the risk of this becoming a dream blog, I'll share the one with you that I can remember from last night. It centred around a rabbit, and we (whoever "we" were) had managed to attach a webcam to its collar - probably a reference to this - so that we could monitor its activities for some purpose that now escapes me. What we hadn't banked on however was that the rabbit somehow ended up in New York, so after what apparently was a long journey by boat, we kept receiving images of the skyline and the harbour.

Even more bizarrely, the rabbit managed to somehow lodge itself in front of the windscreen of a taxi cab, so we received lots of images of a by turns bemused/amused New York taxi driver: firstly through the windscreen, but also close-up as he seemed to try to remove the rabbit from his car bonnet. The rabbit was obviously steadfast in its determination to stay right where it was though since we continued to get images of the driver through the windscreen.

Back in the control room, we were perplexed as to how the rabbit had ended up in New York, but we decided we'd make the best of it and follow its progress anyway until we could find some way of bringing it back.

Funny old place, the subconscious.

Sounds like good gear, my man.

Gear? If only, merk, it would be so much easier to explain away...

Well, who knows.
I spoke with my favourite barmaid tonight.
Told her of my dream from last week.
I am firmly of the belief that dreams mirror some sort of current thought within the indivudual.
(don't give this psychologist shit about blah blah balh because I have decided a little about it Been all through that.)
Anyway, living in this village where everyone is related to each other my dream was as follows :
I am kissing the barmaid in Venice when we disturbed by someone who is married to the second cousin of her ex boyfriends ex partner.
Dear agony Aunt, do you think I have a chance?

She was less than impressed, also.

Dreams? Hahahahahhahahahahah.

PS still don't know why the dream was set in Venice.

Are we to believe that the old saying has changed into " Dream like Rabbits"?

I don't really remember dreams, but on a similar level of bizarreness was an experience I had many years ago while trying to get to sleep.

I'd tried all the normal methods... drugs, sex, that kind of thing... but couldn't nod off, so I decided to count sheep.

It was all fairly normal at first; counting sheep going through a gate, but it went horribly wrong when one of the sheep accidentally closed the gate and, not having hands, the remaining sheep couldn't open it. As a consequence of this, they came up with dafter and dafter methods of getting through to the other side.

There were Great Escape sheep digging tunnels and spreading the dirt around invisibly; motorcycle pyramid sheep braking suddenly at the gate and hurling the sheep on the pyramid's upper levels over the fence; sheep-designed catapults and ballistas; pole vaulters; hang gliders, you name it.

It didn't help with my insomnia.

I wouldn't like to put any meaning to this dream but it must have been fascinating just like the piece of news a certain pixie has just let me in on lol

Lol, love it. Sounds like fun and far too much like my dreams...are we related? Thanks for the anti spam advice.

What can I say merk? - the mind boggles...as for Venice: well, why not?

zola, not necessarily. Or in other words, I don't know. Are we? Maybe. On the other hand...no, I really don't know. I'll think about it.

szwag, that really made me laugh out loud - thank you. I've never been able to count sheep, and this may well be one of the reasons why.

lady, my subconscious appears to be working overtime, and it definitely is fascinating. I can't say I'm aware of what news you might be referring to though.

No worries dj - and maybe you should blog some of your own dreams, I'd be interested to read about that. Are we related? Hmm..maybe...

Dear trousers, this is a super-funny dream!

Did you know that I spent last week in nyc? Didn't see any rabbits there, well not with webcam collars on anyway. Lots of yellow taxis.

The trick to interpreting dreams is to pay attention to how you felt. Can you remember your emotional response to the dream as you dreamt it...?

Hi bindi, no rabbits in New York then? Shame (perhaps). I think, in very general terms, the key to the dream was the fact that the bunny went to a completely unexpected place - which perturbed us at first, but then we found it was interesting and worth pursuing anyway.

I was sort of aware that you'd been to New York: but can I make a confession? *whispers* I'm finding it difficult to read some of your blog posts: not because of the writing, which I always enjoy - but after a while, the small text and lack of paragraphs makes my eyes go funny. Sorry - hope you don't mind me saying this

Sounds fun to me...

Sigh, another one of these topics where I have so very little to contribute. I don't often dream, or, if I do, I don't have any recall of my dreams. It's not often that I wake up and realise I've been dreaming, perhaps once or twice a year. I did once have a dream about little red plastic boxes taking over the world, with news footage of them marching down a hill in Sheffield waving placards and shouting slogans, and can recall the sense of fear amongst the population at the impending coup by the little red plastic boxes, but that's about as ludicrous as my dreams get...

...and yet you say you have little to contribute, but why? ?

Being a glass half full kind of person (except when I'm more of a glass half empty kind of person, which is most of the time), I would say that your dream topics, if they're anything like this one, are definitely a case of quality over quantity.

thanks trousers. I'll enlarge the font. The paragraph thing has me miffed. On my laptop I just can't get them to stay. I include them in the draft but they disappear when I publish.

You should definitely sign up for NaDreReMo - that's National Dream Recording Month. I haven't launched it yet, but will keep you informed. Am doing a bit of test running first.

Sure thing signs, sounds interesting, though bear with me while my blogging time is fairly limited :)
