Tragedy

I saw this headline on a newspaper stand today:

Win Family Break At Alton Towers

I didn't get the chance to read the article. At such a difficult time however, my thoughts and deepest sympathies are with those who knew and loved the Win family.

Oh you musn't do these things! I kept trying to open the 'link' to read about a family tragedy at AT! Der... must find a sense of humor somewhere, I can't really be expected to live the rest of my life without one can I?

Hi dj, nothing like challenging one's readership is there :)
Surely, from what I've read over at your place, you have a well-developed sense of humour? Although I think you've mentioned it before, I find it difficult to imagine you having no (or even not much) humour.

But then, like I told pixie, this is all very serious. FACT.

No humour allowed.
And, for Yankees, no humor allowed.

Hee hee! Do you do cryptic crosswords, trousers? You are a natural.

Correct, merkin, no humo(u)r allowed.

ms m, haven't done one for a while but I used to do the Guardian cryptic on a regular basis.

NO sense of humour would be correct, seriosul I don't.ever.get.the.joke.EVER! My denseness (?) is a constant embarassment in social situations.

Hi Trews

With a name like Win, you'd think they'd have nothing but good luck. Perhaps it's a common Staffordshire name.

Very good!

My sympathies would also be with anyone unfortuante enough to win a day out at Alton Towers. On my last but one visit there with the kids it was such a bad experience that I a) swore never again, and b) wrote a letter of complaint. To my horror they sent me back a complimentary family ticket - and the kids saw it - hence 'last but one visit.' I had to sodding well go again!!!!

Hi j.j. I misread what you said at first, thinking you were saying that after your last visit, you never swore again. A bit drastic I thought, and then I read it properly.

Complimentary tickets - you can see how these buggers work, can't you! Oh, by the way, please accept these complimentary tickets to stop by at the trouser press again...

Thank you for the tickets! Far more welcome than the ones for Alton Towers!

j.j, you're welcome :)
