I'm putting word verification on to comments, for a few days at least, since I've been getting a number of spam hits since the end of last week. Just thought I'd let you know.
For the sake of pedantry though, "word verification" doesn't describe it very well - after all they're not proper words are they, just a random jumble of letters.

I cany6666666666666666 quite read this - that was done by PansyBaby with her bum in my face and a paw on the keyboard..talking of random letters.
And i see MsMelancholy seems to have a suspicious amount on her next but last blog.
who ARE these bstards.and what can we catch from them ?
Dunno if you can catch anything but the main thing is not to bother clicking on the links. Irritating innit - I believe ario has put the word verification on for the same reasons.
Aaaaaahhh, the price of fame.
Sounds like the wages of sin...
Do you know it had never occurred to me that word verification was a complete misnomer? Thankyou. And by way of evidence, I offer you lzzpv. xx
I went through a spate of those sometimes laughably boring creatures but now they seem to have vanished...hmmm...you don't think...nah! Leaving now, byeeeee!
You and me to, they are just so boring.
But random letters seem to work even though they are also boring to fill in.
Small price and all that.

I'm glad, but why?, to have been a source of enlightenment to you, however minor: especially given the priceless insights regularly on offer over at yours (not just regarding the design of Bounty chocolate bars).
Careful, dj - not that you're in any way responsible, but you might just be tempting fate ;-)
pixie, can't say fairer than that.
