Absolutely lav. It's not a surprise, but still shocking. I respected the man all along (not without some reservations) but when I found out at the beginning of the year that he had cancer...he was quoted as saying something along the lines of "well it's just another part of life's big adventure", and that increased my regard for him tenfold. What a spirit.
zola - welcome back. I wouldn't blame the BBC for this particular premature death though...
pixie - wise words. Although I haven't had the chance today, I shall be listening to plenty of suitable music tomorrow. Really though he would hate anyone mourning his death - so I'll be celebrating the good things he was involved with x
