Lol! So what did the other tourists expect? To do their sightseeing by bus? Or did they just get lost a lot? *That would be me*

Next time walk backwards from your spot. Keep walking backwards and then turn left. Go up the other less famous hill and there you will find a thing or two to give you tunnel vision.

dj, oh, no problem with anyone being lost, but rather that they don't seem to realise that they're on a street which has got other people on it. Which means they will frequently step aimlessly backwards or forwards right in your way, without any notion that they might look to see whether anyone else is actually there.

Part of the charm of seeing somewhere new is (as long as you're safe) to actually get lost for some of the time, because that's one of the best ways to get to know the place: I just wish that more people would take passers-by into account when they do so.....

I like to think I've got enough sense that if I'm looking at a map when doing my own tourist thing, I'll actually stand still and out of other peoples' way. Can you tell I needed to vent slightly about this! :)

zola, would that be the hill with Nelson's Monument on it? If so, I did have a wander up there. If not, do tell!

If you were to go up to the castle esplanade and look south, you would see my school about half a mile away.

Now that's interesting, isn't it?

Now that, szwag, goes some way towards explaining the neon signs I could see in the middle distance, which said "SZWAG'S OLD SCHOOL" :)

In fact I did go up the castle esplanade and look south - so at the very least it would have been in my line of vision.
